A Passion for Travel
I started La Tavola because I want people to see and experience travel in a way that will inspire you to grow and appreciate the diversity of the world we live in. La Tavola means “the table” in Italian. The table is our favorite place in the house. The conversations and the plans that happen while sitting down around a table with people you love and care about is a gift. When you travel, the most unique and memorable interaction you have with people will probably involve a table and delicious food.
Now that I am an Advanced Travel Advisor with FORA Travel I have so many resources & booking partners available to me, we can undoubetly plan your dream vacation.
About Me
Traveling is something that we have done with our four kids since they were born. Canada and Florida were our two main destinations early on, and we always drove because we couldn’t afford to fly six people. Driving became part of the adventure, stopping at various locations along the way, experiencing new restaurants (once we moved past chicken nuggets and french fries), and new people. As the kids grew, our travel portfolio expanded, and we took weekend trips from our Ohio home to Washington DC and Manhattan. We went to soccer games in Chicago, and spent time in Savannah on our way to my parents home in Florida. Traveling became part of who we were as a couple and as a family. When our oldest turned 13 we took her to Manhattan for the first time, and this grew into something we did for each of them, “The 13 Trip”. They each got to pick someplace to spend three to four days with us on their own and they picked everything we did, every place we ate, and we made memories that will be cherished for our whole lives. We even inspired other families to do the same with their kids.
I am happiest planning and researching where we could go next. In February of 2018 we were on our last “13 Trip” and decided it was time to take the kids to Europe. Matt and I had been there in 2016 for eleven days and knew that this was a gift we wanted to give our kids. We spent one and a half years planning a month long trip for 6 to London, Paris and all through Italy. It was then that I knew this was something that I wanted to do. Planning this trip for us was an incredible experience. I learned so much and talked to so many different people and it went off without a hitch (mostly). La Tavola wants to share the world with people, and while that may sound cliche or naive, it is really what it comes down to. We want to take on the leg work and create an experience that you will love, and learn from. Let us help you see the world for all the incredible cultures and cuisines and people it truly is.
